However, as far as I understand the docs, this option has to be turned off to be able to connect the K600i to more than one Bluetooth device at the same time. Thus, it is off on my phone, too, and the results I stated above were measured when the "energy saver" option was off. Will investigate further, though, because I intend to use the phone as an UMTS modem and as such, speeds of 6-8 kByte/s don't make much sense. Yes it does have the “energy saver” option.
